MAC Moleskin Eye Shadow Swatch/Review
Right to Left: MAC Soft Brown, UD Naked, MAC Moleskin, UD Buck
My friend recently got me a MAC Pro Palette for my birthday which I love so much. I bought a lot of MAC eye shadows in their pans but I depotted three so far. I bought Moleskin at the Cosmetic Company Store which is pretty much a discounted makeup retailer that sells discontinued makeup products. Moleskin cost $10.50 rather than it's usual $15 price. The texture is very blend able and it's very pigmented. I think it's amazing and I love matte eye shadows. It's a good color to blend with or put in the crease. I have good luck with MAC eye shadows and usually they're all good.
Wet n Wild Walking on Eggshells Review/Swatch
Ever since I have been having my own car, I've been venturing out to Rite Aid. Wet N Wild is probably one of my favorite brands to buy at an actual drugstore. The eye shadows are very pigmented and buttery but it's different compared to UD of course but for $3 this is worth it. The only thing bad I would say about it is the fall out and the packaging. If you're looking for something that is good quality eye shadow for the price you should check these out :)
Maybelline Eyestudio Eye Shadow in Cozy Cashmere Limited Edition Swatch/Review
Maybelline has been doing a good job with their new fall releases. If only they were permanent than I would be 100% happy. The eyestudio eye shadows are supposed to be silky pigmented eye shadows and more of them are but with that comes glitter and frost. I was not expected TWO matte velvety shades. I am so happy they are pigmented too. This quad reminds of a red velvet cupcake with the rust and burgundy shades. I am raving about most of Maybelline's new fall eye shadows because they do not disappoint. Priced around $7 - $8, it comes with 4 colors, the base color being the perfect highlight shade. The second color looks so different compared to what it looks like in pan but I don't really mind. The texture of all of them are nice and silky and they are easily blendable. I can't wait to whip this out when it's more acceptable to wear more sultry colors. You can find the new releases at drugstores like CVS and Riteaid. I am currently on the lookout for the new Color Tattoos because I cannot find them anywhere. The fall selection should be out for at least 2 more months so don't fret but also don't take your time on these because they are limited edition.
Maybelline Eyestudio Eye Shadow in Olive Martini Swatch/Review
New Collections are always the most tempting thing ever. Especially when they are completely different from what other brands are offering. I do not see any other drugstore brands with the duo chrome brown with green.. well maybe Wet n Wild but I never see that brand anywhere. The first shade is a light golden champagne, the second a light blue/mint, the third a brown duo chrome with green, the last an espresso. All of the eyestudio eye shadows are shimmery or frosty. The packaging is cute and compact but this goes for all plastic it probably will not last if you drop it on tile. This eye shadow quad is easy for an everyday look and a smokey look. It is a limited edition product to Maybelline's Fall Collection. I would say it's a 9/10. All the hype is true with this eye shadow.
Maybelline Eye studio Eyeshadow Limited Edition in Smokey Cinnamon Review/Swatch
I will forever be a fan of Fall releases that brands do every year because my favorite season is fall and I generally like the colors a lot more than Summer. I don't mind the frostiness of the eyestudio eye shadows because it's good to toss things up once in a while. All 4 colors are super pigmented and silky, and easy to blend. I love how there's a champagne beige color because I feel like you never can go wrong with that. The most eye catching shades are the lime green and maybe the moss. I personally have little color in my eye shadow collection so I thought this would be nice. I really love the texture of them and recommend if you're on the lookout for some greens. I think the Eye studio eye shadows are a hit and miss but this one is definitely a hit.
Revlon Colorstay 16 Hour Eye Shadow Quad in Moonlit Swatch/Review/Photos
I really liked my other quad from Revlon so I thought I would get another one for kicks. Personally I would not recommend this because some of the colors are chalky, some have a lot of fall out, and the only matte shade that isn't chalky is the darkest color. I decided to give this to my sister because I do not care for it at all. Out of all the color selections there is, there is better pigmentation in the other ones. This quad is probably decent for a drugstore eye shadow but Revlon has done much better and other brands too. I know it looks better on your eyes but it doesn't really impress me.
If you like your eye shadow to be sparkly, then you might like this better than me. It's something I would use if I HAD to but not in my interest would I choose to. I would rate this quad a D or C or a 6.5/10
ELF Baked Eyeshadow in Toasted Review/Swatch/Pictures
Elf is famously known for their price of their products and how most of the time the quality isn't so bad. I'm a big fan of their Studio line because it is better in quality than their essential line but the prices vary from $3-$6. I tried their eyeshadows from which you fill up your own quad but I wasn't really happy with it. I really like baked eyeshadows because of their pigmentation so I thought it wouldn't hurt to pick up a couple to try and I'm so glad I did. I got all the items from the studio line 50% off so the eyeshadows (which are a newer release) cost $1.50. I pigmentation and texture is great, it goes on smooth but not buttery. The size of the pan is about the size of the Maybelline Bouncy Blushes if that helps but considering what I paid for it was a BARGAIN. The packaging is okay but most likely will break is dropped.
If you're interested in baked eyeshadows I would recommend picking this up. If you hate baked eyeshadows I don't know if you would like this since it does has the same qualities as other baked eyeshadows in the market but for $3 it wouldn't hurt to try if you are still up to it. These eyeshadows are great for people on the go since they look great washed over the lid. I don't know if I would ever hit pan on these. I've always been a big fan of ELF for their price but I wouldn't consider their products the best quality more like a bang for your buck.
Mac Eye Shadow in Naked Lunch Review/Swatch
This is my second eye shadow from Mac! My first one is Amber Lights. But pretty much this shadow is a "minimal pink with shimmer" in a frosted finish. It's the very light shade. I don't like swatching lighter shadows since it's harder to show up on my iphone camera lol. If you happen to be near a store/counter check out this shade yourself because it's so pretty on the lids! This and Groundwork is probably going to be my everyday makeup for the next couple of weeks.
The tint to Naked Lunch is different than UD's Sin and sin is much more pigmented and more metallic which i do not prefer all the time! I'll probably post a comparison to it later!
